Project Recap: Rosenbauer America

The Passenger crew has been busy these past few months working on a number of rewarding projects (as you may have seen with our recent Vance Thompson Vision work). One of those projects was a multi-state, multi-stage effort with Rosenbauer America, one of the nation's leading fire truck manufacturers.

The Project
We recently wrapped up our second round of filming with Rosenbauer America. For those who don’t know, Rosenbauer makes fire trucks. Incredible, custom-built fire trucks. Rosenbauer America is part of the Rosenbauer Group, an international brand with facilities in the U.S., Europe and Asia. Rosenbauer America has plants in Lyons, SD, Wyoming, MN, and Fremont, NE, so we traveled all over to shoot this project. We knew we needed to adhere to a strong aesthetic style, so we filmed in a way that captured the intricate details and precision craftsmanship of Rosenbauer’s work.

The Look and the Gear
Some of the aesthetic choices included filming with a high contrast of light and dark, which allowed us to isolate and highlight the craftsmen and craftswomen that make these beautiful pieces of machinery. We wanted to show how, despite things being run by such a large team, the trucks are still the result of a personal touch. Additionally, the use of a blue streak filter was a way to communicate the high-tech nature of the customized trucks, which was another important aspect of this project.

The Outcome
With that in mind, take a look at the finished product:

Another part of this puzzle was chiseling out some 30-second, TV-ready spots from our long-form pieces. Here is just one of the the successful outcomes of that effort:

  • One of our goals is to ensure our clients get as much out of our collaboration as we can provide. With Rosenbauer, that led to a variety of really fun pieces, including:

  • A 2-minute history and recruitment video for their SD operations

  • A 30-second TV-spot recruitment video for SD

  • A 2-minute legacy piece to celebrate the retirement of Rosenbauer America CEO Harold Boer and his wife Helen, both of whom played an integral part in the organization’s success

  • A company-wide overview of their SD, MN and NE operations, with an emphasis on technology and capabilities

  • And a 2-minute recruitment video for MN

Each piece had its own focus, its own nuances, and its own final product that achieved what we set out to achieve.

Wrapping Up
The folks at Rosenbauer take pride in the appearance and professionalism of their vehicles. So do the firemen who drive them. Our goal was to convey that pride in every frame. Thanks to a fantastic collaboration with the humble, hardworking crew at Rosenbauer, we accomplished that goal.
